Nightlife
There are three main bars in Le Praz, each with its own ambience.
The Hotel Le Peupliers is the traditional stopping point for many skiers on the way back to their chalet, famous for its (rather potent) Vin Chaud, but also a great place to try some of the local Savoyard wines or just enjoy a well earned beer. If the weather is pleasant there are tables to sit outside or later in the evening the open fire and comfortable sofa's make the downstairs lounge, Le Norby's, a cosy place to relax and unwind.
The Sports Bar L'Escorche-Vel (Pizzeria) is generally livelier, with live sports on TV and live bands playing each Tuesday and Friday evening.
Bar Darbeilo's is a smaller more traditional French bar and is under new management this winter so watch this space for updates on what it has to offer.
With a regular free bus service which now runs until late the bars of 1650, 1850 and La Tania are also readily accessible.
The staff day off gives you a chance to sample one of the many excellent restaurants in the resort.
Le Praz has the full range, from the excellent value bar menu offered in the Pizzeria, La Cave da Cote which offers traditional Savoyard fare at a reasonable price to the more refined dining experience in Le Yaca, the Bistrot du Praz or the Table de Mon Grand Pere at the Peupliers (the latter two also offer fixed price menus for those on a smaller budget).
Again, the excellent bus service in the resort allows you to sample any of the wide range of restaurants in the other resort villages and we will be delighted to make suggestions and book a table for you.
Shopping
In addition to the bars and restaurants there are a number of shops all within a couple of minutes walk of the chalet so should you forget your sunglasses or suncream, want to send a postcard home to make friends or family back home jealous or take home some of the excellent local cheese or wine.
